If you thought this post was about so-called black and white people mixing, sorry to disappoint, but it's not. As much as that would make for one sexy topic ('Cos, you know, mixed people are just the bomb diggedy haha ), this post is about mixing black and white prints.
I was inspired by this year's theme for the annual J & B Met, which was "Made for the Mix" (see my post on the actual event later). I moved away from my comfort zone and chose to go with black and white rather than either a solid black or white bottom with this top. And not just any plain old black and white bottoms. One that in itself is eccentrically busy with stripes going in all directions. This is a stylish yet fun ensemble and indeed, it made me feel like having a bit of fun. But I got more than I bargained for. Seems some higher power felt like having a bit of fun with me. Just as I called it a wrap and got excited for dinner, I realized that the gates of the premises had been closed. I didn't know when we would get out and I had to block out all images of food that by then had consumed my every thought. We went knocking on the doors of the building inside the premises since we saw some cars parked in front of it. We went from knocking, to banging to YELLING! 'Um, hellooo-ooo, we outcha, waiting. At least give us some food damn it.' But nothing. There was but one wall that was safe to climb over but seriously, you had to see how high that thing was. I guess being super tall would come in handy at a time like that. Unfortunately I am not and I had to work out how I was going to get over that wall in this skirt. Just as we found a way to do it, we noticed a car driving towards the gate. Alas, there were people inside. Come on, were they that stingy to feed us? Lol na, I guess they were a bit deaf? LOL, just kidding. I was just happy that I didn't have to do any climbing. I'm telling you, this blogger bizniz ain't all fun and games. But damn, we gotta love it! Needless to say, my thoughts of food resumed as we merrily (and hungrily) made our way home :)
Besides doing something a little different with the outfit, I decided to throw in another colour to add some funk to the overall look. I just love that side of blue Blackcherry delight! It is so big and spacious inside, yet doesn't look too big from the outside. Size was perfect for this fun look!
