Not to sound dramatic or anything, but when I first heard news of Forever 21 coming to South Africa, I froze with an overwhelming sense of disbelief and excitement. It is what I have been waiting on for years. I first shopped Forever 21 8 years ago and the last time was 2 and a half years ago. 2 1/2 YEARS that seemed like a lifetime. I was tempted to shop online a few times and went right until the checkout, but the reality of how far they were from home hit me when they added the shipping price which often costed more than the items. Then there was still the possibility of import taxes etc.
Well the moment of truth finally arrived when they launched in Cape Town's very own Canal Walk. I attended the preview Media launch and I was over the moon. No really, I was on a serious high. We were welcomed on a red carpet and given a little goodie bag which contained Forever 21 headphones and two R500 shopping vouchers! We were served yummy drinks and delicious canapes while being entertained by the sounds of a live band. The store itself glistened. Beautiful, brightly lit and satisfyingly big!
We were separated into groups and guided through the store to view and be given insight into the various collections, which is basically categorized according to different styles. We have the free spirited girl, the girl who likes to dress it up but stay comfortable and a whole lot more. Basically, it doesn't matter what style you are into, you will find something you like. It was greatly emphasized that there is limited stock of every item in store so as to avoid too many customers purchasing the same thing and risking a duplication of outfits at one or other occasion. So if you see something today and you like it, grab it. It may not be there tomorrow. They stock up on brand new items everyday.
I absolutely love the accessories department. For two main reasons: One, everything is right on trend, and two, it's cheap! Of course I splurged my vouchers and got a couple of cute tribal print high waist shorts, a bunch of accessories and a crop top. Oh and a cute floral hair comb. I'll be doing outfit posts in everything I got so keep a lookout for that!
Overall I am impressed and can't wait to see how the store keeps up with their promise to keep us up to date with the latest and greatest in trendy fashion.
Can you tell how excited I was? Looks like I'm flying through the store lol!
I got to see some of my fab fellow bloggers:
In convo with Lauren Campbell of Fashionista CT , who looked gorgeous as always.
Having a laugh with Zahra Perry of The Perry Book.
I met her for the first time and I must say that she is really a cool, down to earth and beautiful chick!
With the cute Nuzhah Jacobs from The Rampage Blog! Can you believe she is only 17 years old and already has a cool jewelry store and a great fashion blog? High Five girl!

I also got to meet the fabulous KFM Radio presenter/model Twala N'gambi! She is the sweetest chica ever, and I can't wait to catch up with her again. How cool is her outfit that was styled by Forever 21?
Sorry for the back picture but can you believe that we were so into our convo that we completely forgot to take a front picture lol. Don't worry, I didn't forget the next evening at Spree's Spring Summer Look Board event. Post coming soon.
And at the end of it all, one Happy Shopper!
Outfit details to follow in the full outfit post.
Until next time, have a good day, or night, wherever you are!
