Bronx Woman X Miss Port YDE Competition

There was no hesitation when I was presented with the opportunity to participate in a Style Diary Challenge with Bronx Woman and Miss Port Yde. I'm always up for a challenge especially if it involves getting to dress up and have fun! This is a competition and what I love most about it is that the voters get in on the chance to win a prize. If you visit the Bronx Woman Facebook Page and vote for your favorite look, you stand a chance of winning the full outfit!

I had but a couple of days to choose a pair of shoes from the Bronx Spring | Summer 2014 Collection and make my way to YDE to pick out a dress from the Miss Port collection. So you can just imagine the rush and indecisiveness that came along with it all. I mean, you know how I love shoes. And here I had to choose one pair from over a dozen gorgeous pairs. I love their gladiator sandals, cowboy boots and simply need a pair of their wedges. So what's a girl to do? I sat there staring at it all and had to wipe the sweat off my forehead a few times. I then decided I'll first go check out what Miss Port had to offer. The decision process wasn't much easier there and I had to decide whether I was going for a casual or fancy look. I went with what I felt inside and naturally I went with the lovely Ivory Tahlia, which I lovingly named my 'Marylin'. I don't think I need to explain why. I then  had a look at the shoe catalogue again. While I thought of doing something a little eccentric and going for Lori in pink, I chose what I was drawn to most. And that's how I ended up with the pretty Brandy in Nude on my feet. The shoe that I have come to call my ballerina beauties. Throughout the shoot, I felt like a ballerina with tied ribbons around her ankles and a leotard and tutu. All I wanted to do was prance around and tiptoe my way everywhere. I use to be a ballerina for real back in the day :)

My Marylin really did bring out the Marylin in me. She has always been one of my female icons. I know many people hate on her and question the fact that so many women look up to her, but she was one of the best examples of a woman who lived her life freely and she always looked like she was having the time of her life in everything she did. One such time was when she did a shoot at the beach with an umbrella and I thought this would make the perfect accessory to spice up my overall look. After all, umbrella's are not only for winter. It comes quite handy when the harsh sun-rays hit us during Summer.

Of course all other accessories had to be gold as you know White and Gold is one of my favorite combinations.
